PROJECT CONCEPT

PROJECT STORY

CONTEXT

9th and 10th Ave form Hell’s Kitchen’s main district-center. The area bears unique urban qualities within it’s city fabric which are rightfully protected within the Clinton Special District. New York is constantly redeveloping its low and medium density districts to cope with growing demand.

CONCEPT

By overlapping the two most vivid streets in a vertical configuration anew high density public “street” is generated.

CONTENT

Using the exposed lift “cars” and walkways the public can access elevated parks, restaurants and exhibition halls. All functions are located around the vertical “street scape” of the tower within a strong city-like hierarchy. The close proximity of a rich mix of businesses provoke interaction and enable innovation. The interposition of vast park like green spaces and intimate hideout’s enhance creativity and grant a healthy contemporary lifestyle. In combination these elements form a new vertical hybrid neighborhood in Hell’s Kitchen.
